Leapfrog!

Entering The Duke of York Square on the Kings Rd, Chelsea, there is a charming bronze sculpture of a young girl and boy playing leapfrog. "The Children" was sculpted by the late Allister Bowtell. They are wearing the 1814 uniform of the Royal Military Asylum for soldiers children, although they are likely to be orphans. Many of the female pupils at the school became domestic servants.
I love this playful bronze pair in the evening when they are floodlit and shining
There is a great attention to detail, from the strands of hair to the boot buttons.
The littler girl reminds me of Degas' "Little Dancer".
